Reed focuses his practice in the areas of family law, estate planning, and ERISA compliance, and is licensed to practice in South Carolina and New York. In addition to his law degree, Reed has an undergraduate degree in economics, a graduate degree in accounting, and has passed the Uniform CPA exam. For the 12 years prior to law school, Reed served as the President of Crescent Partners, LLC, where he was responsible for asset selection, and negotiating investor agreements and real estate contracts.
As an estate planning and family law attorney, Reed devotes himself to achieving the best result possible for his clients. With his business background and knowledge of tax and trust law, Reed brings additional value to his family law clients when significant assets are involved and the property division is complex. A knowledge of business structures, tax basis, and future taxable gain is crucial in these cases. Reed also understands that while his client’s financial security is a primary goal, the dissolving of a marriage is fraught with deep emotions for the individuals involved. He approaches all his clients with empathy and understanding.
Reed graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina School of Law where he received CALI awards as the top-scoring student in Estate Planning; Estate & Gift Tax; and Race, Class & Education, and was a co-recipient of the Albert C. Todd, III Estate Planning Award.
